Am I A Memory Card Hog?

My brother called me a memory card hog. I can’t understand why 🤷‍♂

I’ll give you some context. I used to borrow my camera equipment from the hire department at michaels camera video digital and sometimes I may not have given back the memory cards. It turns out that out of the 39 cards I gathered from around my house, only 6 in the end came from michaels.

I’m no different from anyone else because when I got the call from David, who has just opened a new business, michaels camera hire, asking me to return the cards today, I got a bit scared. It meant I had to deal with my memory cards and the photos stored on them.

So I gave each card a unique ID number and copied the files from each one onto my ‘Document My Life’ External Hard Drive (EHD). I labelled each folder with its ID number, capacity as well as any important notes.

So I’ve now returned the cards that I tagged green. My next step is to experiment with using data recovery software on the two cards that couldn’t be read. I tried accessing them on 2 computers and also using an external memory card reader. They mount and show that data is being used but I can’t go further. For now.

I also ran the folders marked green through the ‘Big Mean Folder Machine’ which sorts the files by date. I then browsed the contents using Adobe Bridge and renamed the folders with a description.

Wow - I feel so good now that there is a little bit of organisation! Perhaps I should just keep going…
