With over 20 years experience working in the michaels camera photo lab, our Founder, Carly Michael, leads a team of highly-trained lab technicians using state-of-the-art equipment and rigorous quality control processes to convert your 35mm slides to high quality and organised digital files.

Benefits of using PhotoGenie’s Slide Scanning Service:

- We provide high quality and high resolution scans that are clear, sharp and look like the original slides
- Scans are provided as jpeg files (TIFF available on request) with enough resolution to print at least A4 size
- We clean the slides from dust both physically and digitally
- We manually go through each of the scans and check for and remove any missed dust on faces and important details
- We rotate each of the files so that all the landscape and portrait images are displayed in the correct orientation (i.e. horizontal shots will come as horizontal files and vertical shots as vertical files)
- We give each batch of physical slides an ID number (ie 1234). This ID number will be included in the digital filename allowing you to quickly and easily locate the original slide from the file
- We can also rehouse your original slides in archival sleeving, stored in sleek folders or boxes
- We look for clues as to the approximate date the slides were taken and also the location/theme/subject
- We include this information within the file and folder names so that they become descriptive
- Your digital scans become searchable and filed in chronological order, e.g. 19721225_ChristmasFamilyLorne_1234-001.jpg
- We update the date of the digital files we create to be the date listed in the filename
- This means that you can add your scanned files into your digital photo collection (i.e. iCloud/Google Photos) and the scans will appear in the correct spot in the timeline

We work with you to identify dates, events & locations and include this information in the filenames. The digital files become searchable, are ordered chronologically & are also descriptive.

I have found the whole process from start to finish very efficient (punctual), reasonably priced and you have produced an excellent product.
